DIY: Sequin-Capped Slip On Shoes

So, so simple and looks great on.

You'll need
1 pair of old slip-on shoes
1 piece of sequin fabric (scraps are sufficient)
Thread (to match color of your shoes, in this case I used black)
Fabric scissors

How to
1. Measure out the size and shape of the toe cap, and cut out the shape on your fabric. Do this twice for both shoes.
2. Sew the edges of the fabric to the shoes. Make sure all sides are in tact to the shoe.
It's almost too easy to actually write out instructions!

Until next time loves.

blued

Top, Zara / Shorts, Japanese Boutique / Sneakers, Burberry / Bag, Balenciaga / Jewelry, DIY

Something I hate in the summertime is sleeved shirts. Just because Hong Kong is so humid it's not possible to stand outdoors sweat-free. This top though, I can say I'm in love. Surprisingly cool and incredibly comfortable. And seems to contrast well with my hair!

black fact

Top, H&M / Jeans, Uniqlo / Antigona Bag, Givenchy / Heels, Zara

An all black look to contrast my annoyingly light hair (that I wish I could dye back but would rather not risk damaging it any more). This look was from a dinner date, and the heels were my starting point. The entire outfit revolves around me trying to accentuate these beauties. A pain to walk in, but too pleasant to the eye to return. Hong Kong is not the place to be strolling around in heels, which explains the available space inside my Antigona to fit an extra pair of flats. I never wear heels without back-up anymore.....

Until next time. Have a great weekend!

hello to my new world!

This is my first official post of The Unbowed. I can hardly contain my excitement to start something I love! Below are just a few photos of me in the past few years.

Whereabouts: Mont Blanc / Milan / Discovery Bay Hong Kong / Hong Kong

As a small introduction, I'll give a bit of background on myself. I was born in Japan, raised in Hong Kong, and am currently a sophomore studying at Parsons the New School for Design in New York. What started out as a culture shock living in an entirely foreign environment, has become an immense learning experience. Photography, traveling, volleyball, food (and lots of it!), and of course fashion are a few of my main passions.

This blog will mainly feature my personal style, inspirations, creations (DIY projects) and "unconsumption" projects (repurposing existing artifacts).

Self-expression is tricky, because expression involves an audience. However, self-expression can become engulfed by the desire to please and external expectations. Through showcasing my individual style, I hope to put forth the message to be fearless and confident. There's no boundaries when it comes to yourself. And that's what this blog is about.

Until next time!
